Key Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric therapy environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, documentation, and relevant school-based therapeutic interventions
- Excellent communication abilities to work effectively with students, faculty, and families
- Adaptable, positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy to students as written in their IEPs under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement and adapt therapy activities to address each student’s individualized goals
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with school district and state regulations
- Communicate student progress and therapy results to other professionals and family members
- Collaborate in meetings, taking part in the process of developing or updating IEPs
- Contribute to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment that fosters growth and participation for all students
