Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience or strong interest in a school environment
- Familiarity with IEPs and supporting students with diverse needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and educational staff
- Adaptability, compassion, and a creative approach to therapy activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist as outlined in students’ IEPs
- Support teachers and teams with strategies to maximize student participation in the classroom
- Contribute to progress monitoring and documentation in accordance with school policies
- Collaborate with families and staff to create a positive environment tailored to each student's unique needs
- Engage students in functional, motivating activities that enhance their growth and independence
