School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Lawrenceville, Virginia

You’ll collaborate closely with educators and licensed Occupational Therapists, helping students reach their functional potential within a supportive school community.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current, valid COTA licensure or eligibility to obtain in Virginia
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt in changing classroom dynamics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans as directed by an Occupational Therapist, assisting students in developing or restoring functional skills for classroom participation
- Work with students individually or in small groups on motor, sensory, or adaptive skills
- Document ongoing progress and update relevant education team members
- Support classroom staff by demonstrating therapeutic strategies and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute input related to students’ occupational performance
- Ensure compliance with all school district, state, and federal guidelines
