As an itinerant Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you’ll collaborate with supervising OTs to deliver high-quality therapy services to students with mild to severe needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, valid in Arizona
- Ability to obtain or possess an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred, especially with a range of student needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable managing a caseload across multiple locations
- Commitment to fostering student development and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Travel between approximately three school sites to meet student needs
- Collaborate closely with supervising occupational therapists, teachers, and other specialists
- Document interventions, track progress, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Adapt and implement therapeutic activities tailored to each student’s abilities
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
