Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Monroe, MI
A unique contract opportunity is available for a certified occupational therapy professional to support K-12 students in the Eastern Region of Monroe County. This full-time role will span the 2026-2027 academic year, providing essential therapeutic services onsite within Monroe and Mason public school settings. You’ll work 35 hours per week, collaborating with educators and allied staff to make a meaningful impact on students’ daily experiences and long-term development.
Required Qualifications:
- Current licensure in occupational therapy or as a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) in Michigan (submit your screen school verification with application)
- Proven experience delivering occupational therapy services in school environments
- Adept at working with students with a range of disabilities, supporting both academic and functional goals
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches for a diverse K-12 caseload
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions according to students’ individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Assess needs, document progress, and collaborate with educators and families to support students’ goals
- Consult and coordinate with teachers and other educational professionals for integrated support
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district and state requirements
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
