Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience in a school-based setting or with pediatric populations preferred
- Ability to carry out treatment plans developed by an Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school environment
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Implement individualized and group therapeutic activities under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Assist students with developing fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills for classroom participation
- Monitor and record students’ progress, providing regular updates to the supervising therapist and educational team
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to integrate therapy goals into daily classroom routines
- Participate in student-team meetings and contribute to program planning and modifications as needed
- Support a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment
