This contract opportunity spans July 6 through August 13, with hours scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The program is held at an upper elementary school and covers a diverse grade range, providing exposure to a variety of student needs and experiences.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Valid COTA license in Connecticut
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Ability to effectively support occupational therapy services to K-12 students
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work onsite for the program’s duration
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing therapeutic activities and interventions developed by the supervising OT
- Work with students individually or in small groups as directed to promote skill development and participation
- Document student progress and assist with data gathering for progress monitoring
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and members of the special education team
- Maintain an organized, positive therapy environment that encourages student participation
- Flexibly support the needs of a dynamic caseload as additional details are provided
