Step into an impactful role working with K-12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position gives you the chance to support students’ growth and participation in a rewarding educational environment.
You’ll play an essential part in delivering occupational therapy services in accordance with student IEPs, collaborating with educators and therapists, and helping enhance student engagement and independence. This assignment covers the academic year from August 2026 through June 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule for a weekly total of 32–37.5 hours.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Skilled in working with K-12 populations
- Ability to thrive within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA at the assignment start
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy support under OT supervision per student IEPs
- Adapt classroom tasks and materials to suit diverse learning and physical needs
- Collaborate with OTs, teachers, and parents to address goals and modifications
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for treatment activities and progress
- Monitor and support students’ progress, reporting on outcomes to the team
