Occupational Therapist School Setting - Algonquin, IL
An outstanding contract opportunity awaits an Occupational Therapist skilled in school-based settings for the upcoming academic term near Algonquin, IL. This position is ideal for professionals experienced in supporting elementary and middle school students within both resource and self-contained environments. The role is structured for 37.5 hours per week and is set to begin on August 7, 2026, with orientation taking place on August 3 and 4. The assignment concludes on October 15, 2026, offering a focused window to make a significant impact.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapy License (IDFPR)
- Demonstrated experience as an Occupational Therapist in school-based settings, particularly with elementary and middle school populations
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted occupational therapy services to students within both resource and self-contained classrooms
- Evaluate students’ needs, develop intervention plans, and monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to integrate therapeutic strategies in the classroom
- Maintain accurate records and prepare comprehensive assessment and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning and problem-solving
