School Occupational Therapist | Arlington Heights, Illinois

This contract assignment begins with orientation on August 3rd and 4th, followed by a rewarding placement from August 7th through October 15th. Located near Arlington Heights, IL, this role offers a 37.5-hour workweek, allowing you to build meaningful connections while maintaining work-life balance.
Bring your expertise to a collaborative team, providing services in both resource and self-contained classroom settings. You’ll be instrumental in helping students overcome barriers to success through assessment, intervention, and education.
Qualifications:
- Valid IL State Occupational Therapy license (IDFPR required)
- Experience working in school-based OT roles is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Comfortable supporting both elementary and middle school age groups
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating students’ functional abilities and creating individualized treatment plans
- Delivering direct and consultative OT services in resource and self-contained classrooms
- Supporting students’ development of fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Maintaining timely and accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student goal planning
