School Occupational Therapist | Aurora, Illinois
Step into a dynamic school-based position as an Occupational Therapist supporting a unique blend of learners. This full-time contract role spans approximately 32.5 hours each week during typical school hours, offering the chance to provide both consultative and direct OT services. You’ll be instrumental in helping students in a Behavioral Academy (grades K-12) and a Transition Program (ages 18-21), both housed within the same vibrant educational setting.
In this collaborative environment, your expertise will play a central role in multidisciplinary teams focused on fostering student independence, growth, and academic participation. Responsibilities will include comprehensive evaluations, annual reviews, and individualized service delivery — both one-on-one and within small group settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
- Experience working with a diverse, school-aged population, ideally including behavioral and transition-age students
- Familiarity with IEP processes, consultation, and assessment tools for school settings
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to provide both direct and consultative services
Core Duties:
- Deliver individualized OT interventions aligned with IEP goals
- Participate in annual and triennial evaluations, re-assessments, and multidisciplinary meetings
- Provide support and resources to teachers, staff, and families
- Document sessions and progress in accordance with district protocols
- Collaborate with school teams in both Behavioral Academy and Transition Center programs
