School Occupational Therapist - Aurora, Illinois

Step into an impactful role providing essential services to students across a respected Illinois district. As a contract Occupational Therapist, you’ll deliver therapy for Pre K through age 22 students—addressing diverse needs to support their educational journeys. This is a full-time, onsite position, offering a dynamic environment as you travel between multiple schools, including elementary, middle, and high school campuses with varying daily schedules.
Key Qualifications:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy settings is highly valued
- Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
- Flexibility to adapt to changing caseloads and schedules
- Commitment to timely completion of all credentialing processes, including required fingerprinting
Your Role Will Involve:
- Providing direct occupational therapy services to students with a range of diagnoses and needs
- Collaborating with teachers, multidisciplinary teams, and families to develop, implement, and review IEP plans
- Conducting assessments, writing reports, and maintaining detailed documentation
- Delivering therapy in both group and individual settings to help students reach their functional and educational goals
- Traveling between assigned schools within the district, managing your own schedule
- Staying current on best practices and legal guidelines for school-based occupational therapy
