In this full-time, contract-based role, you'll deliver invaluable OT services to children at five elementary schools, with occasional visits to a middle and high school. Your daily routine will offer variety as you travel within a roughly 13-mile radius, ensuring accessible care for all assigned campuses.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state
- Previous experience working in pediatric or school-based OT settings recommended
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with teachers, aides, and families
- Flexibility and organizational ability to manage travel between multiple sites
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute within the district as needed
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for fostering student independence
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct OT evaluations and re-evaluations as required by student IEPs
- Design and implement customized intervention plans to promote student participation in learning environments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support educational outcomes
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with district and regulatory standards
- Offer strategies and resources to staff and families to enhance student progress
- Adapt services based on individual student needs and school schedules
