Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a contract school-based Occupational Therapist. This in-person position offers a consistent 35-hour workweek beginning in mid-October, where you'll help foster academic, social, and developmental growth for students in a school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Washington (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Proven experience or strong interest in working with children or adolescents
- Understanding of occupational health principles as they relate to educational settings
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for a dynamic school schedule
- Ability to work on-site, engaging directly with students and educational staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Evaluate students’ needs, strengths, and abilities to determine goals and appropriate interventions
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans to help students achieve greater independence in classroom and everyday activities
- Work closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to support students’ academic participation and progress
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation of sessions, progress, and outcomes
- Consult with educational staff regarding classroom modifications and sensory strategies
- Attend team meetings, contribute to IEP reviews, and participate in ongoing professional development
