Occupational Therapist School Setting - Bremerton, WA
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide services across an elementary and a middle school. Supporting students with a range of needs, your expertise will make a meaningful difference in their academic journeys and overall well-being. The position covers one elementary setting with 36 IEPs and one middle school with 18 IEPs. At the middle school, you'll find a unique schedule—several students are not seen weekly, with some requiring only monthly or less frequent sessions. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is available to help 1.5 days each week, ensuring cooperative and efficient service delivery.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapy certification and state licensure.
- Previous experience in school-based OT strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs for students at elementary and middle school levels.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseloads across two buildings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and family members.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in alignment with their IEP goals.
- Adapt intervention frequency based on individual student needs, coordinating monthly, weekly, or less frequent sessions as required.
- Work collaboratively with the part-time COTA to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and IEP records in accordance with district and state policies.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams to support comprehensive care for students.
Enjoy a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Start and end times will align with the requirements of each assigned building to accommodate student and school needs.
