Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and active Occupational Therapy license
- Experience in a school-based setting, specifically working with students who have severe disabilities
- Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and the special education process
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of each student
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in both group and one-on-one sessions
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and parents to support carryover of skills in the classroom and at home
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation on student progress and attendance
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting
- Educate school staff on strategies to support student participation and development
