School Occupational Therapist | Bronx, New York

This full-time contract opportunity centers on providing exceptional occupational therapy services to a PreK caseload, specifically working with children ages 3 to 5. In this position, you'll collaborate closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary support staff to help students reach critical developmental milestones. Your expertise will drive interventions, evaluations, and individualized treatment plans to promote independence, coordination, and participation in classroom and social activities.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of New York
- Prior experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations, specifically ages 3-5
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Familiarity with sensory integration, fine motor development, and play-based interventions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and family members
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and appropriate OT interventions
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services in classroom and therapy room settings
- Provide guidance and resources to teachers and families to reinforce interventions
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation and progress reports
This contract role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30AM to 3:30PM, allowing you to balance your professional and personal commitments while contributing to the growth of young learners.
