Occupational Therapist School Setting in Bronx, NY

The full-time position (30-32.5 hours per week) is a backfill role focusing primarily on elementary-aged children. You’ll manage a case load of approximately 35-40 students, supporting a broad spectrum of conditions, with a concentration on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is ideal for OTs passionate about fostering student independence, improving participation in daily activities, and collaborating closely with teachers and families.
The part-time OT position (12-15 hours/week) is based in a single school building, offering maximum schedule flexibility to fit your needs. This makes it perfect for professionals who value work-life balance while delivering targeted interventions.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure recognized by New York State.
- Prior experience as a school-based OT preferred, particularly supporting elementary students.
- Proficient in evaluating, planning, and implementing IEP-directed therapy services.
- Familiarity with a variety of conditions, especially ASD.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs.
- Conduct assessments and develop goal-driven intervention plans.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Consult and collaborate with educators, administrators, and family members.
- Support students in building fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
