Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid and active Virginia Occupational Therapist license
- Previous school-based experience or a strong interest in working in a school environment
- Solid communication skills to work effectively with children, parents, and teachers
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans that support IEP goals
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
Your Day-to-Day Includes:
- Providing direct and consultative therapy to students according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conducting assessments and documenting progress toward therapeutic goals
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate strategies into the classroom setting
- Maintaining detailed records and contributing as an active team member in IEP meetings
- Supporting positive student outcomes with both small group and one-on-one interventions
