Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist license for Virginia
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Ability to work with ages spanning elementary through high school
- Skilled in evaluating and developing individualized OT plans
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- History of collaborating effectively with educators and families
- Experience supervising or mentoring Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students across 7 schools (1 high school, 2 middle schools, 4 elementary schools)
- Assess students’ needs and create individualized therapy plans in alignment with educational goals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, administrators, and families, to support student development
- Supervise and actively support two COTAs serving all assigned schools
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert input and documentation
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Contribute to in-service training and educational initiatives for staff as applicable
