School Occupational Therapist - Cary, North Carolina

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting students and staff in a busy, collaborative educational environment on the western side of Wake County. You’ll work across elementary, middle, and high school settings, implementing creative interventions and conducting comprehensive assessments to foster student success in alignment with North Carolina educational standards.
Interviews are happening now, and the role begins 30 days after an offer is made. This is a full-time, on-site position following a year-round calendar, with weekly schedules typically spanning 37.5-40 hours.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or higher)
- Extensive school-based OT experience required; prior experience in North Carolina schools highly valued
- Strong background with ECATS and participation in IEP (Individualized Education Program) processes
- Skilled in conducting motor screenings, OT evaluations, and interpreting results in the educational context
- Proficiency in commonly used school-based OT standardized assessments, with required knowledge of Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Must obtain NPI number and register with NC Tracks before start date
- DCDEE fingerprinting and district-specific background check necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students aged PreK–High School based on individualized education programs
- Complete detailed documentation and reporting for therapy sessions and progress notes
- Administer and interpret assessments to support student participation and inclusion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to tailor OT plans
- Engage in monthly workload reviews and discuss caseload management with district leads
