School Occupational Therapist | Cary, North Carolina

This position offers the chance to engage with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, supporting their development and educational success throughout the year-round track. Full-time hours are set at 37.5 per week, with a workload model designed to ensure balanced caseloads and monthly reassessment.
Candidates must possess recent, post-fieldwork school-based OT experience (experience must be beyond school placements and internships). Proficiency in designing and documenting interventions, conducting motor screenings, and completing OT evaluations is essential. Familiarity and skill with standardized assessments such as the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2 are required, along with a strong ability to interpret results in the context of educational programming.
Key Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina OT license (NCBOT)
- Post-graduate OT degree; Master's preferred
- Solid foundation in school-based practice, including IEP and ECATS experience
- North Carolina school experience preferred
- Understanding of functional skills assessment as it relates to public education
- Must secure NPI number and register with NC Tracks prior to start
- Successful completion of DCDEE fingerprinting and background screening
Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy and support for students K-12 in line with educational goals
- Complete and document evaluations, screenings, and services
- Collaborate actively with educational staff and parents to implement IEPs
- Apply assessment results to guide interventions within the school setting
- Be adaptable as workloads and caseload assignments may fluctuate
