Occupational Therapists selected for this assignment may be placed at a range of Western Wake County school sites, from elementary through high school. You’ll collaborate within a progressive workload model—with regular reassessments and support—helping students thrive in their educational environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Active OT license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Post-graduate OT degree (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum required: School-based OT experience (post-Fieldwork II as a licensed OT)
- Familiarity with ECATS, and IEP documentation required
- Prior NC school experience is highly desired
- Proficiency with SPM-2 and Sensory Profile 2 assessments
- Strong understanding of the educational application of OT assessments
- Must secure NPI and NC Tracks registration before starting
- DCDEE fingerprinting and background clearance required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct OT motor screenings, evaluations, and direct therapy as part of student IEPs
- Utilize standardized tools to assess and address students’ functional school-based needs
- Document services and progress in ECATS, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt interventions to meet state standards and workload expectations
