Job Description
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) and a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide school-based occupational therapy services in Charlestown, Vermont. The OT will support students district-wide from kindergarten through 12th grade, while the COTA will primarily serve students in grades 5–12, with some students in grades 2–4 under the supervision of the district OT.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to support students' educational and functional needs.
- Assess student abilities and help develop individualized therapy goals.
- Support the development of fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
- Implement therapy interventions to improve students' participation in school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and special education teams.
- Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation.
- For the COTA role, provide services under the supervision of the district Occupational Therapist.
Requirements
- Valid Vermont OT or COTA certification, as applicable.
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
- Experience working with K–12 students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work across multiple school buildings.
