Occupational Therapist School Setting in Chicago, IL

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in school or pediatric settings, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with teachers, families, and students
- Dedication to fostering student independence and participation in school activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and develop tailored intervention plans
- Provide direct therapy as well as consultative services to teachers and staff
- Participate in the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track student progress and maintain up-to-date, accurate records
- Support classroom adaptations and accommodations to promote inclusion
- Serve as a resource for families and educate on relevant strategies at home
- Engage in professional development to keep current on practices and policies
