School Occupational Therapist | Chicago, Illinois

Located conveniently near Chicago, this full-time opportunity (32.5 hours per week) is ideal for someone with a heart for helping young learners develop essential life and academic skills. The role begins in August 2026 and continues through May 2027, providing consistency for your students and a fulfilling career rhythm for you.
The ideal candidate brings expertise in school-based occupational therapy and a genuine passion for working with children in an educational environment. Your work will have a direct impact on children’s success inside and outside the classroom, helping them build independence and confidence.
Desired Expertise and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current OT licensure in Illinois (or the ability to obtain)
- Previous experience with elementary-aged students in schools preferred
- Strong assessment, documentation, and case management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other therapists
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct and consultative therapy in accordance with IEPs and school goals
- Track progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement interventions
- Educate families and staff on adaptive strategies for student success
- Support a diverse elementary caseload with care and professionalism
