School Occupational Therapist - Chicago, Illinois

Bring your expertise to an engaging school-based role delivering occupational therapy services for K-8th grade students in the North Chicago/Waukegan area. As a valued part-time clinician, you will collaborate with educators, families, and professionals to help students overcome barriers to learning and maximize their participation in the classroom environment. This contract opportunity allows you to oversee two or three campuses in the local area, working approximately 20 hours per week, flexibly distributed over two or three days.
Your Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Active license for occupational therapy in Illinois
- Registered with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR)
- A minimum of three years’ experience providing occupational therapy services, with at least three of those in a school environment
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Passion for empowering K-8th grade students to reach their fullest potential
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assessing and evaluating students’ needs to develop targeted treatment plans
- Providing direct therapy services and implementing individualized strategies
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to monitor progress
- Supporting student participation and achievement by recommending adaptive techniques and accommodations
- Maintaining accurate and compliant documentation
- Facilitating professional development or consultative support for campus teams
