An exciting contract opportunity is now open for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for delivering high-quality therapy in the school setting. Based on the western side of Wake County, this assignment offers the chance to support students across the age spectrum in elementary, middle, and high school environments. Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license with the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or post-grad OT degree)
- Demonstrated school-based OT experience (NC schools experience highly preferred)
- Proficiency with ECATS and IEP documentation is required
- Expertise in the use and interpretation of standardized school-based OT assessments, especially the Sensory Processing Measure-2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Solid understanding of functional skills assessment linked to the educational environment
- Ability to obtain NPI number and register with NC Tracks prior to start
- Willingness to complete DCDEE fingerprinting and complete district background check
Responsibilities:
- Carry a full-time caseload across multiple sites working under district workload guidelines
- Conduct motor screenings and comprehensive OT evaluations within a school context
- Collaborate with educators and families to support participation and access in educational programs using relevant accommodations and interventions
- Generate documentation in accordance with IEPs and district requirements
- Participate in monthly workload reviews to ensure optimal support for students and manageable therapist caseloads
