Your expertise will be valued as you collaborate with dedicated educators to provide essential OT services, focusing on functional skills that are vital for student advancement. The district uses a progressive workload model, adjusting monthly to maintain balanced, manageable caseloads.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Post-graduate Occupational Therapy degree; Master's preferred
- Documented professional (post-fieldwork) experience within school-based environments (experience outside of fieldwork/graduate school required)
- Prior NC school experience highly preferred
- Proficient in ECATS and confident writing, managing, and implementing IEPs
- Strong command of OT-specific standardized assessments, including the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Expertise in conducting motor screenings, comprehensive OT evaluations, and interpreting/communicating results in alignment with educational standards
- Ability to register with NC Tracks and secure an NPI number before starting
- Willingness to complete DCDEE fingerprinting and district background check
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to students in elementary through high school settings across multiple campuses
- Routinely evaluate and document student progress, tailoring interventions to meet individual and programmatic needs
- Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families in developing and implementing IEPs
- Use data-driven insights to inform therapy plans and contribute to comprehensive student support teams
