This role is located near Des Plaines, IL and runs from August 7, 2026, through May 20, 2027, with orientation on August 3rd and 4th. You'll play a vital part in blended and self-contained classroom environments, supporting students' developmental and functional growth within a collaborative school setting.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy, especially with early childhood populations, is highly valued
- Familiarity with educational goal setting, IEP process, and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy assessments and implement individualized treatment plans for students in early childhood classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create supportive environments tailored to students’ developmental needs
- Provide direct and consultative OT services, addressing fine motor, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and progress updates
- Offer recommendations for classroom modifications, adaptive equipment, or home practice as appropriate
