Step into a rewarding role supporting K-8th grade students as an Occupational Therapist across several campuses in the North Chicago/Waukegan area. This part-time contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional who is eager to make a meaningful difference while maintaining work-life balance.
You’ll collaborate with educators and families, working 20 hours per week over two or three days to provide expert OT services. Your impact will help young learners achieve greater independence and success in their daily school activities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution
- At least three years’ experience as an occupational therapist, with a minimum of three years in a school setting
- Current Illinois state license to practice occupational therapy and registration with the Illinois Department of Financial Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively across two to three nearby school campuses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group OT sessions for K-8 students, addressing fine/gross motor skills, sensory needs, and adaptive strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and parent/guardian teams in developing and implementing tailored IEPs
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress, making recommendations for instructional and environmental modifications
- Consult with educational teams to support classroom strategies that benefit students with diverse learning needs
- Travel as needed between assigned campuses within the North Chicago/Waukegan region
