Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Occupational Therapist (OT) license is required
- Prior experience working in a school environment or with pediatric populations preferred
- Ability to satisfy all Massachusetts and district requirements for providing school-based OT services
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Comfortable conducting assessments, writing evaluations, and participating in IEP meetings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K-8 students as specified in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Complete comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations to tailor interventions for student success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy progress and related services
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines
- Contribute to IEP meetings, providing expert insight on student progress and recommended supports
- Adapt therapeutic strategies to accommodate diverse student needs and learning environments
