Step into a pivotal contract opportunity supporting students on the western side of Wake County as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This year-round, on-site role offers a dynamic work environment, serving a variety of age groups across elementary, middle, and high school campuses. Full-time hours (37.5–40 per week) are available, and your workload will be assessed and adjusted monthly to ensure a fair and sustainable balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Active OT license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Post-graduate OT degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred
- Demonstrated school-based occupational therapy experience (NC school experience strongly valued)
- Deep knowledge of ECATS and IEP processes—these are essential
- Proficient in therapeutic documentation.
- Expertise in conducting motor screenings, evaluations, and functional skill assessments within educational environments
- Skilled in using standardized school-based assessment tools, particularly the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Able to interpret data and translate results into actionable educational plans
- Willingness to obtain an NPI number, register with NC Tracks, and complete DCDEE fingerprinting and district background screening.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students based on identified educational needs
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and participate actively in the IEP process
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success in alignment with state standards
- Maintain timely documentation aligned with district, state, and federal requirements
- Serve multiple campuses with flexibility as caseload and workload adapt to district needs
