This position allows you to make a direct impact, working primarily with elementary-aged children, with select responsibilities in secondary schools as well. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, supporting student growth and maximizing independence in academic and functional skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Occupational Therapy license (MD OT License) required
- School-based OT experience or a passion for working with pediatric populations
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, administrators, and families
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet the diverse needs of elementary and some secondary students
- Collaborative spirit and organizational skills to manage caseloads efficiently
Outline of Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver both direct and consultative OT services to students across various age groups
- Document progress and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ growth in fine motor and adaptive skills
- Provide training and resources to staff and families, supporting carryover of strategies
