Occupational Therapist School Setting in Evanston, IL

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-8 students by providing expert occupational therapy support across two to three school campuses in the vibrant North Chicago and Waukegan area. This part-time, contract role is ideal for an experienced, licensed Occupational Therapist looking for a flexible schedule with an opportunity to collaborate in a supportive educational environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- State license to practice occupational therapy and registration with the Illinois Department of Financial Professional Regulations (IDFPR).
- At least three years of experience offering occupational therapy services in educational settings.
- Strong ability to organize services across multiple campuses and work with diverse student populations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with staff, students, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to K-8 students in line with IEP and 504 plans.
- Evaluate students, develop and implement intervention plans, and monitor progress to meet goals.
- Design adaptive strategies and modifications to help students access the curriculum and school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to maximize student engagement and success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in meetings as needed across assigned locations.
This position offers approximately 20 hours per week, with the flexibility to set your schedule over two to three days. You’ll play a pivotal role serving multiple campuses and influencing a broad range of students through your expertise and compassionate care.
