School Occupational Therapist | Federal Way, Washington
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist on a contract basis near Federal Way, WA. This engaging opportunity covers the 2026/2027 school year and requires 37.5 hours per week, providing support across a dynamic K-12 caseload. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and families to help students thrive both academically and socially, delivering direct services aligned with each student's unique needs.
In this role, Occupational Therapists provide approximately 900 to 950 direct service minutes weekly, with your caseload typically spanning 4-5 schools based on building needs. There’s variety in your day as you support both elementary and secondary students, conducting assessments, developing and managing IEPs, and providing hands-on therapy to enable student growth and participation.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Washington (WA OT license)
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certification required
- Prior experience in schools is highly valued and preferred
- Ability to confidently manage and support diverse student populations across multiple sites
- Skilled in IEP development, therapy documentation, and multi-disciplinary collaboration
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessments, intervention, and consultative OT services
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes
- Develop and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with educational teams and families
- Prioritize and schedule services based on direct service minutes, traveling between assigned schools
- Foster student independence and success in school environments
