As a part-time OTR, you’ll work 24 hours per week, distributed across three days. You’ll collaborate directly with students, fellow educators, and support staff, making a tangible difference in students’ daily lives. The role also calls for a professional confident in providing supervision to a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) as part of the team.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- California-licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Capable and comfortable supervising a COTA in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
- Ability to assess and implement individualized interventions for elementary-aged children
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and create individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students at elementary sites
- Consult regularly with teachers, staff, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress, and outcomes
- Provide effective supervision and support for the assigned COTA
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to setting student goals
