Exciting contract opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist ready to make an impact in a K-8 school environment! Step into a leave OT role supporting students across 2-4 sites, working closely with a dedicated COTA team member. This position offers a structured weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, and will be filled on a trimester contract basis covering August through November, November through January, or January through the end of the academic year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid OT license in California
- Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education services
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload of approximately 55-60 students
- Experience working with K-8th grade children
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating with school staff, teachers, and parents
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and write IEPs for students requiring OT services
- Document student progress and maintain organized records
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings and school site events
- Oversee and guide COTA to ensure fidelity in service delivery across all assigned sites
- Implement therapy interventions tailored to student needs, supporting their educational and developmental goals
- Travel between multiple school sites as needed within the assignment
