Your expertise will be valued as you collaborate and support students primarily at two schools. You’ll provide both direct and consultative OT services for a caseload of 25, with 10 students receiving direct sessions and 15 supported through consultation. The role may evolve to include some evaluations as the school year progresses, and it’s possible an elementary school assignment will be added, keeping your days full of varied and meaningful work.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Occupational Therapist license required
- Experience in school or pediatric OT settings preferred
- Ability to start the Virginia Department of Social Services check immediately
- TB Test (Virginia requirement)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Enthusiasm for supporting students with diverse needs in a school setting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students
- Consult with teachers and school staff to support additional students
- Conduct assessments and participate in the development of IEPs as needed
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation
- Communicate progress to families and the educational team
- Adapt approaches based on student response and changing caseload
