You’ll primarily serve two dynamic middle schools, with the possibility of partnering with an elementary campus as your assignment unfolds. Your schedule, totaling approximately 20 hours weekly, can be tailored to your availability—ideal for professionals seeking work/life balance or wishing to supplement a clinical caseload.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to approximately 10 students and consultative support for an additional 15, helping each reach their fullest academic and functional potential.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families to implement individualized plans and provide insightful recommendations.
- Conduct periodic evaluations as needed throughout the school year to ensure optimal student progress.
- Stay attuned to ongoing developments and contribute to professional dialogue with both the district’s program director and the lead OT.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Virginia.
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is advantageous.
- Ability to start the VA Dept. of Social Services background check promptly and comply with TB testing requirements.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care.
