Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license, or eligibility in Indiana
- Experience working with elementary age children, especially within school settings
- Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues effectively
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy rooted in educational best practices
- High level of organization and adaptability for managing caseloads and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for elementary students
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living relevant to academic achievement
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and special education teams to integrate therapy goals into the learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting interventions as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for student success
- Communicate proactively with families, providing resources and support as necessary
