School Occupational Therapist - Grayslake, Illinois
Step into a meaningful role supporting students’ growth as a contract occupational therapist or certified occupational therapy assistant within a public school setting. This opportunity provides a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week for the upcoming academic year, working with K-12 students. The specific caseload and grade assignments will be determined prior to the start date. Your expertise will play a vital part in collaborating with educational teams to help students develop essential skills for success in school.
Your assignment will commence with new hire orientation from August 12th to August 14th, preparing you to confidently begin the 2026-2027 school year in a supportive and dynamic environment. All services are conducted onsite, enabling direct interaction with students and staff and maximizing your impact day to day.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and active Illinois OT or COTA license (verification required)
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy practice
- Ability to develop and implement a variety of effective treatment strategies for students in special education settings
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Commitment to on-site attendance per the contract schedule
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver occupational therapy services to K-12 students in accordance with IEPs and district guidelines
- Provide documentation for evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and other related service providers
- Adapt interventions to meet individual student needs in a school environment
- Participate in meetings and trainings as required, including new hire orientation
