Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license, with authorization to practice in the state (or eligibility for credentialing)
- Previous pediatric or school-based therapy experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and special education supports
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to diverse student needs
- Collaborative spirit for working alongside a multi-disciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ abilities and needs, developing tailored intervention plans
- Implement evidence-based therapy sessions, focusing on functional goals for school participation
- Contribute to IEP meetings, sharing insight and progress updates with staff and families
- Provide recommendations on classroom modifications, adaptive equipment, and strategies to facilitate inclusion
- Maintain timely, detailed records in compliance with district and legal guidelines
- Offer educational resources and training to teachers and parents
