School Occupational Therapist - Hugo, Colorado

This role begins September 8th and continues through the end of November, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic school environment and make a meaningful difference in students’ lives.
Your primary focus will be on an elementary school caseload, ensuring that young learners receive the occupational therapy services they need to flourish in the classroom and beyond. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with a handful of students who have significant developmental needs, allowing you to apply your expertise in more complex cases. Enjoy variety in your week: spend four days on-site within the district and dedicate one day each week to supporting students in a nearby area outside the district.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state OT license (or eligibility to obtain, if needed)
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Ability to design and implement individualized treatment plans for a range of student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort traveling for site visits between multiple locations
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and create therapeutic interventions tailored to students’ goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student growth
- Maintain accurate documentation on progress, interventions, and outcomes
- Support students with both general and severe developmental needs
- Work flexibly across different school sites as scheduled
