In this position, you’ll collaborate with a long-standing school client and play a key part in helping students reach their developmental goals. Your impact will be felt across all ages, and you’ll also have the opportunity to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
Qualifications:
- Valid NM state licensure (NMRLD) and active NMPED certification through the New Mexico Department of Education (NMPED) by your start date (NMPED certification is a quick process for those proactive with documentation)
- Previous experience in a school-based occupational therapy setting preferred
- Willingness to work onsite and travel between multiple local school sites
- Ability to supervise COTA(s) as needed
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Open to both OTs and experienced COTAs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students of all ages, helping them develop critical skills for academic and daily life success
- Assess student needs and implement targeted intervention plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure holistic care
- Supervise and mentor COTAs, supporting best practices across the team
- Travel between assigned school locations as required
