As an OT working with K–12 students, you’ll collaborate with educators and families, delivering treatment plans that foster participation in school activities, independence, and overall well-being. Sites and assignments are coordinated over the summer, so flexibility and a willingness to travel between schools throughout Hendry County are a must for this role.
Key Requirements and Experience:
- Active Florida OT license required
- Previous school-based OT experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple caseload needs across different school settings
- Reliable transportation and comfort with regular travel within the county
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for K–12 students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEPs
- Provide direct therapy services as well as consultative support to students, teachers, and families
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and collaborate in IEP meetings
- Adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of each campus and student population
- Remain current with best practices and relevant educational guidelines
