Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for New York State
- Experience providing school-based OT services
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and progress monitoring
- Strong skills in documentation and record keeping
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and families
- Professional, compassionate, and adaptable approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT sessions twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30–3:00 PM) in adherence to the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Conduct monthly OT consultation sessions
- Accurately record student participation, progress, and services provided through detailed service logs
- Prepare regular progress reports as required
- Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, presenting evaluations, observations, and recommendations
- Collaborate closely with teachers, teaching assistants, related service staff, and families to provide strategies and accommodations that best support the student’s success
