School Occupational Therapist - Milford, Delaware

Make a difference as a dedicated Occupational Therapist working full-time in a school-based contract role serving students with severe disabilities. This rewarding position offers the chance to support a diverse caseload of 35-40 students across varying grade levels. You’ll join a collaborative and caring educational environment, utilizing your skills to guide students toward meaningful progress in their daily activities and school participation.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license (no COTAs)
- Prior experience within school settings supporting students with severe disabilities, including autism and behavioral challenges
- Strong background in managing IEPs, conducting evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Comfortable in data collection, therapy notes, and reviewing documentation by COTAs as appropriate
- Dependable transportation and willingness to reliably commute
- Able to pass drug screening and fingerprint/background checks
- Commitment to professionalism, timeliness, and excellent communication
- No conflicts with full-time schedule (37.5 hours/week, excluding lunch)
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services tailored to individual needs
- Collect and analyze data to track student progress
- Write, update, and review IEPs and evaluation summaries
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster student growth
- Maintain accurate, timely therapy documentation
- Communicate student progress and challenges with staff and families
- Remain flexible to support students across different grade levels as needed
