Work Hours: Flexible schedule – 20 hours per week initially, with the option to increase to full-time later in the school year (onsite)
Job Description:
An excellent opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist supporting an elementary school in Bloomington, Minnesota. This leave coverage position offers a flexible schedule, beginning at approximately 20 hours per week with the opportunity to increase to full-time later in the assignment. The Occupational Therapist will provide direct therapy services, supervise a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), and support students within a workload model rather than a traditional caseload model. The district utilizes a 3:1 service delivery model, allowing dedicated time for consultation, evaluations, documentation, and indirect services to ensure high-quality student support.
Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota Occupational Therapist license
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Experience supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) preferred
- Knowledge of school-based occupational therapy practices and Medicaid billing preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in an elementary school setting
- Conduct evaluations and contribute to treatment planning as needed
- Supervise and support a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Complete Medicaid billing and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Participate in consultation, evaluations, and indirect services during designated planning weeks
- Attend team meetings and complete administrative responsibilities as assigned
