School Occupational Therapist - Moreno Valley, California
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity serving K-12 students with diverse needs, including mild to severe disabilities. This role offers the chance to support students across multiple sites near Moreno Valley, CA. One position is full-time for the extended school year, and the other is a full-time maternity leave coverage projected from August to March. You will make a meaningful impact by assessing, consulting, and supporting learners from ages 3 to 22.
Qualifications:
- Active California Occupational Therapy license is required
- Prior experience in California school settings is essential
- Familiarity with both the BOT-3 and Peabody assessments for students with multiple disabilities
- Strong ability to analyze data to address parental concerns and support recommendations for services
- Comfortable managing fluctuating caseloads, including assessments and consultations as needs change
- Demonstrated independence; able to create and manage your own schedule based on district priorities with minimal support
- Previous experience with K-12 caseloads, mild to severe
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus, but not mandatory
- Must be able to work independently without supervision—school district will not allow OTAs in this role
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, including BOT-3 and Peabody, for students ages 3-22
- Develop and implement treatment plans to support IEP goals
- Effectively communicate recommendations and progress data to both staff and parents
- Provide in-field services independently across various school sites
- Adapt to changing caseloads and adjust services based on evolving school and student needs
